This week on Good Morning LKN, we were joined by Leigh Ann Darty, Director of Rainbow Kidz Grief Counseling, and Mindy Rice, Director of Development for Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, to discuss the growing need for grief support services across our community. The conversation highlighted Rainbow Kidz, Camp Rainbow, and the new Brown Family Grief Center, a dedicated space designed to help children, teens, and adults navigate loss through counseling, support groups, creative activities, and connection.
Leigh Ann shared how the loss of her brother inspired a lifelong mission to support grieving families, while Mindy discussed the organization’s vision for expanding services through the new center. Together, they emphasized a powerful message: sometimes the most important thing you can say is, “I’m here for you.” Learn more about their programs, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming fundraising efforts at hoic.org.
