On Saturday, one of WSIC’s own Kayla Wright, was crowned Miss Statesville, something she’d been hoping to achieve for over a decade, when she was Miss Statesville Carolina Princess. As she was announced as 2022 Miss Statesville by Tennille Kilby Sherrill, tears welled up in her eyes and she clasped her hands together as a thank you to the judges. Kayla is a student at Clemson University where she is majoring in Communications and Psychology, with plans to pursue a masters degree in Music Therapy. She started working at WSIC last summer as an intern and still works part-time for us remotely from Clemson.
