Jason Schumacher, Quality Control Manager at Purple Heart Homes, joined Good Morning LKN in Washington, D.C., to share his journey from Army veteran and Purple Heart Homes recipient to helping other veterans through the same organization that once supported his family. After receiving critical home repairs, including new windows, heating and air conditioning, and electrical upgrades, Jason began volunteering and eventually took on a leadership role overseeing quality standards for the organization’s modular housing program.

Jason also discusses the challenges of transitioning from military to civilian life, the lasting relationships he has built through Purple Heart Homes, and the inspections and construction requirements behind the National Mall Veteran Home Build.
