Huntersville Mayor Melinda Bales says she was planning to run for reelection, but decided after Bradford’s announcement “that she is uniquely qualified” to fill the seat representing North Meck in the State House. The 24-year Huntersville resident has 12 years of combined experience on the Huntersville Board of Commissioners and as Mayor.
