With so many new signals going up around town, such as the Westmoreland HAWK signal, the town’s Heads Up Cornelius program wants to emphasize how to interact with pedestrians and cyclists in different situations. “Yield to Pedestrians” means that if you see someone who might be getting ready to cross, slow down until you know what action they’re going to take. If a pedestrian has stepped into the crosswalk, stop until they’ve finished crossing.
