Reverend Scott Jackson, Jr., 98, was born in Scarboro, Georgia, on November 24, 1924, to the late Reverend Scott Jackson,Sr., and Zillie Jackson. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville, N.C..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lacier Anna Harris Jackson, daughter, Katherine, six brothers, William, Grady, James, Lewis, Albert, and Issac.
Reverend Jackson was the Associate Minister of New Birth Worship Center, and was employed with the US Postal Service for thirty one years and received the USPS highest award, “ The Superior Accomplishment for Recognition of Noble Performance.”
He attended Hood Theological Seminary Extension School in Brooklyn, N.Y., New York Bible Institute, Bethel Bible Institute, New Theological Seminary College in New Rochelle, N.Y., and received his Bachelor of Religious Education and Bachelor of Theology Degree from United Christian College in New York. He pastored several AME Zion churches until he retired.
Reverend Jackson leaves to cherish the memories of his life, three daughters, Marlena Jackson- Ilgner, Katherine, and LaSarah Jackson, ( Shequita King), Shana (Timothy) Summers, one sister, Mary Alice; one nephew, Vincent; five grandchildren, Yvette Jackson (Roger) , Kimberly (Dioni) James, Channin (Towanda) Jackson, Adekunle ( Kimberlee) Adeyemi, and Dereon Jackson; ; six great grandchildren, Logan, Karter, Owen, and Ryleigh; godchildren, Mae Carroll, Denise Lawton-Fleming, Dwayne ( Terra) Carroll, Betty Mensah, Desmond (Tomeka), Jacobi Gray and over 35 foster children, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at New Birth Worship Center. Visitation will be held from 11- 12:00 p.m., and Reverend James Hunt will give the eulogy.
