Franklin Police Department Officers responded to a bizarre, but miraculous vehicle collision Friday on U.S. Highway 64. Fortunately, one driver was not injured, and the other driver was pulled from their fiery car by two bystanders (heroes). The injured driver was flown to Mission Hospital, and was last reported to be in stable condition. Franklin Fire – Rescue, Macon County EMS, Macon County Sheriff’s Office, and North Carolina Department of Transportation jointly handled this collision. The incident is still under investigation.
