This week on Good Morning LKN, we were joined by Fran Nichols of Bridge of Hearts to talk about the organization’s mission to celebrate children experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness across Lake Norman and Iredell County. What started with a simple birthday cupcake at a community table has grown into a nonprofit providing birthday celebrations, hygiene kits, snack bags, sleeping essentials, and newborn support kits for local families in need.

Fran shared how former teachers and school leaders came together to make sure every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated at least once a year. Through partnerships with schools, counselors, churches, scouts, and community groups, Bridge of Hearts continues expanding its impact across North Mecklenburg, Iredell, Lincoln, and Rowan counties.
