Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff immediately until sunset tonight in honor of former North Carolina Republican Senator Stan Bingham who passed away yesterday. A native of Winston-Salem, Bingham represented Davidson and Guilford counties as senator from 2001 to 2016. Prior to this role, he served on the Davidson County Board of Commissioners from 1990 to 1994.
