Dr. Charlitta Hatch, CMS District 1 representative and host of The Community Classroom, joined Good Morning LKN to talk about the start of the school year and issues facing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools families. She discusses giving young children the “gift of time” when considering kindergarten readiness, addresses bus transportation challenges and the statewide driver shortage, and explains why parents should reach out to their school principal when transportation concerns arise.

Dr. Hatch also shares why preserving the history and voices of longtime CMS communities matters as Charlotte continues to grow and schools evolve. Hear The Community Classroom Mondays from 5–6 PM on WSIC.
