Cornelius Today is reporting that Cornelius native and country singer-songwriter Trey Calloway, has won the 2022 Josie Music Award for songwriter achievement at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Calloway grew up on Danesway Lane; his parents are Angie and Frank Calloway, who now live in Mooresville. The 2010 North Meck High School grad also won the JMA Vocal Competition at the 1st Annual JMA Fest after performing a capella versions of his original music in front of a live audience and a panel of industry-expert judges.
