Cornelius Today is reporting that a fire at a single-family home on Smith Circle late Wednesday night was intentionally started, according to Cornelius Police. A Cornelius Police officer was on routine patrol at 11:50 pm when he noticed a house and vehicle on fire. The officer helped the residents and their two small children get out of the house located at 19627 Smith Circle.
