Cornelius Today is reporting that barring any last-minute problems, the HAWK signal on Westmorland Road will be working started at noon today. The High Intensity Activated Crosswalk signal will be the first outside of Charlotte in Mecklenburg County. When it is activated, and a pedestrian pushes the walk button, the stop lights will be illuminated and drivers must stop.
