A 10-year-old child was hospitalized after being bitten in the face by a friend’s dog in east Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care and Control. Authorities said officers responded to the incident on Grandview Drive where a Pit Bull had reportedly attacked the child unprovoked. Officers said the child was petting the dog on the head when it suddenly bit him in the face, causing a level five bite on the Dunbar Bite Scale.
