WXII is reporting that an Amtrak passenger train and tractor-trailer collided Tuesday morning in Lexington, police say. Lexington police responded to the scene at approximately 9am Saturday. Officers confirmed that the train did have passengers on the train but did not say how many. The passengers were then put on another train, according to a tweet by Amtrak. This train is part of Amtrak’s Piedmont Service, which runs between Charlotte and Raleigh. Photo credit: WXII
