WBTV is reporting that charges have now been upgraded to felony death by motor vehicle for Markail Hampton, 31. Hampton was accused of causing a fatal accident that took the life of a man driving a motorcycle back in May. Hampton ran into and broke a pole on South Main Street just after 3:30am, causing power lines to hang low over the street. 52 year-old John Blackwell, Jr. ran into the power lines and died from his injuries before EMTs arrived.
