The Iredell County Public Library 250th Semiquincentennial Celebration of the sighing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of American is starting Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. with a special program on General Nathanael Greene by historian John Misenhimer. Mr. Misenhimer will be giving his lecture in period costume on “General Nathanael Greene’s ‘Particular Plan’ and the Tale of Two Rivers.” Most of the discussion will be on General Greene’s military actions on and near the Catawba River after the Battle of Cowpens and in some instances will be directly connected to Iredell County.
