If you’re heading to the Wilmington area for the holidays, the Festival of Trees begins today at the North Carolina Aquarium in Fort Fisher. The event runs through January 2nd, but will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day. This marks the 30th year of the festival, one of Fort Fisher’s favorite traditions and the longest running annual fundraiser. All of the proceeds will benefit Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, who strives to provide access to the highest quality life care, education and support services to patients and their families.
