EnergyUnited recently conducted a special Electrical Safety Demonstration at Douglass Elementary School in Eden. The purpose of the presentation was to educate and inform elementary school students about the proper precautions that must be followed when individuals encounter energized power lines and equipment.
“EnergyUnited is committed to deliveringsafe, reliable and affordable power to our members,” said Maureen Moore, communications manager for EnergyUnited. “As a member-owned, community-focused cooperative, our commitment to safety is supported through many important educational initiatives and community partnerships.”
The demonstration at Douglass Elementary is one of seven safety presentations scheduled by the electric cooperative this fall. EnergyUnited will also be visiting five other elementary schools and will be conducting one virtual safety demonstration. The initiative is part of EnergyUnited’s effort to educate students and teachers about the importance of following industry-reviewed safety guidelines and standards when one is in the close vicinity of power lines or electrical equipment.
