Wildfire Continues on NC’s Outer Banks

A wildfire continues to wreak havoc on parts of the Outer Banks in Eastern North Carolina as smoke covers the area. The agency said refuge firefighters were helping the state Forest Service fight the blaze. It covered 1,000 acres (1.6 square miles) and was 60% contained as of yesterday morning, according to the Forest Service’s website. Rain is expected to help firefighters put out the fire, according to the Fish and Wildlife Service.
