Vacation Rental Business Surpasses Hotels in Asheville/Buncombe County

WLOS is reporting that yesterday, Vic Isley, the president and CEO of Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (BCTDA) announced at a meeting of tourism officials that for the first time in Buncombe County  history, vacation rental inventory has eclipsed hotel inventory. During the meeting, Isley noted that while hotel supply has gradually increased over the past four years vacation rental supply has risen at a much higher rate. Data presented by tourism officials shows that  2,726,501 hotel rooms were available through October of 2022, compared  to 3,008,146 vacation rentals. Photo credit: AirBnB
