UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and Media Votes to Downgrade Accreditation Status

The News & Observer of Raleigh is reporting that the national accreditation group for UNC-Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media voted to downgrade the school’s accreditation status to “provisional” following a routine review. The reasoning behind the vote to lower accreditation status is unclear, but the issues could be related to the group’s report that showed the school did not meet certain diversity and inclusiveness standards.
