UNC-Chapel Hill’s liberal Chancellor, Kevin Guskiewicz, has gotten a lot of flack over a comment he made this week in the News & Observer. Guskiewicz said that it was not possible for UNC to have the diverse environment needed without taking race into account in the admissions process. Carolina Partnership for Reform disagrees, saying that data from UCLA shows that crude race-based decisions are not necessary to achieve racial diversity.
