Thermo Fisher Scientific will build a manufacturing facility in North Carolina focused on making vital laboratory products as part of its $192.5 million contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The new facility will be located in Mebane, North Carolina, and is expected to create 150 to 200 new jobs. Construction is forecast to be completed by the third quarter of 2024. The company didn’t disclose the complete cost of the new plant.
