The Mecklenburg County Health Department issued a rabies alert notification in south Charlotte this week after a fox tested positive for rabies. One person and three domesticated animals were exposed to the rabid fox, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care and Control unit. The exposure marks the second fox and ninth animal to test positive for rabies in the county so far this year.
