A wild horse on North Carolina’s Outer Banks was hit by a vehicle and killed on Saturday, the herd manager said. The horse, named Rabbit, was hit around 2:15pm after she “galloped down the dunes and directly into the path of the vehicle,” according to a Facebook post from the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, which protects and manages the Colonial Spanish Mustangs “roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks.” The incident was determined by the CWHF to be a devastating accident.
