Whether you go to Boone or Asheville, you can expect to see the usual orange, yellow and red on trees in North Carolina’s mountains. The peak dates started a few weeks ago and continue until November 6th, depending on elevation. The color of leaves is related to weather conditions that occur before and during the time the chlorophyll is dwindling. Photo by Ricardo Gomez Angel/Unsplash.
