Couple Shot While Gunfire Barely Misses Infant in Car

A double shooting into a car Saturday night narrowly missed a baby, Union County deputies said. Deputies said at about 9:30 p.m., a silver Honda Accord was driving down Griffith Road toward Plyler Mill Road in Monroe. Three adults and and infant were in the car. According to deputies, someone in a car right behind them shot into the Honda. A 60-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman inside the Honda were hit by gunfire and taken to the hospital. Deputies said both are in stable condition.
