Cherokee County’s insurer has settled a lawsuit with a woman whom county officials separated from her family as a child without judicial oversight, awarding her $4 million. County Department of Social Services workers separated Molly Cordell and her sister from their family as teenagers after their mother died. She and her sister are now in their 20s.
