Asheville Airbnb Entrepreneur Will Plead Guilty to Bank Fraud

Shawn Thomas Johnson, 36, was a well-known Airbnb owner in the Asheville area. Johnson was caught in bank fraud scheme. He will now plead guilty to up to $3.5 million in federal bank fraud. His maximum sentence is 30 years with a $1 million fine. It is not clear what punishment Johnson would face. A separate sentencing hearing could take place in about 6 months, according to officials.
