There might not have been any new billionaires after Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, but a lucky person in the Charlotte area won a $1 million prize by matching all five of the white balls. The North Carolina Education Lottery announced Thursday that a lottery ticket sold at a Sheetz in Troutman ended up being worth a cool million (before taxes, anyway.) The winning numbers for Wednesday’s drawing were 2, 11, 22, 35, and 60, and the red Powerball was 23, according to lottery officials. Photo credit: WFTV
