N.C. Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service Settles With Feds

The N.C. Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service under Roy Cooper has agreed to a settlement with the federal government after an investigation alleged falsified time cards and compliance documents for grants from the federal AmeriCorps program. AmeriCorps is a federal volunteer grant program established in 1993 to connect and fund students who are willing to serve with low-income communities in need.
